      Work Life:

      Why financial planning?

For David, financial planning isn’t just a career—it’s a calling built on decades of real-world experience. With a degree in Accounting from the University of Lowell, David began his journey as a CPA, launching a successful accounting and tax practice. But in 1997, he saw the growing need for holistic planning that integrated investments, insurance, retirement strategy, and—of course—tax expertise. So he evolved his practice into what is now VL Wealth Management.

With more than 30 years serving both individuals and businesses, David is known for his ability to zoom out to the big picture while also managing the intricate details that can make or break a plan. His background in corporate financial analysis, IRS representation, and wealth preservation gives him the toolkit to help clients truly maximize their financial potential—both now and across generations.

At the heart of his philosophy? People. David takes time to understand what really matters to his clients: how they live, what they value, and what kind of legacy they want to build. From that foundation, he crafts plans that are both effective and emotionally meaningful.

      Personal Life:

Who is David outside of work?

David goes back and forth from N.H. to Maine, with his wife and their pets, enjoying a life centered around family and community. He has two adult daughters and is a proud grandfather—titles he holds in higher regard than any credential. When he’s not helping clients or leading his team, you’ll find him cycling local trails, getting competitive on the pickleball court, or spending time at family gatherings.

He’s deeply committed to giving back, having served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Bishop Guertin High School and supported groups like the National Special Needs Network and the General Pershing Fund for Student Veterans at UMass Lowell.

          Work Life:

          Why financial planning?

Andrew’s journey into financial services began in college, with internships at Northwestern Mutual and Salomon Smith Barney. There, he discovered a passion not just for finance and numbers, but for the powerful, long-term impact that thoughtful planning can have on people’s lives—across months, years, even generations.

After graduating in 2002 from the inaugural class at Southern New Hampshire University with a B.S. in Accounting & Finance, Andrew co-founded VL Wealth Management. Since then, he's spent over two decades helping young professionals find clarity, mature couples retire with confidence, and business owners build and protect what they’ve worked so hard to create.

As a fiduciary and seasoned advisor, Andrew navigates clients through shifting economies, market fluctuations, political upheavals, and tax law twists—all with the calm of someone who’s weathered it all: 9/11, the 2000s Tech Crash, the 2008 Global Financial Crisis, and COVID-19. Alongside longtime partner David E. Vaillancourt, he sees himself not just as a wealth manager, but as a coach, guide, and financial quarterback for families and entrepreneurs alike.

          Personal Life:

Who is Andrew outside of work?

At home in Windham, NH, Andrew is a husband to Jennifer and dad to two high-energy sons, Luke and Zack. Much of his time is joyfully spent coaching their sports teams, cheering them on at games, or trying to keep up with them on ski slopes and golf courses.

Faith and family are cornerstones of his life. The Lefebvre’s are active members of St. Matthew’s Church and are rarely far from the water—whether it’s the rugged Maine coast or the breezy beaches of New Hampshire. If you ever catch Andrew on a day off, chances are he’s planning their next beach getaway or quietly soaking in some peace and quiet before the next big game.

When she’s not cheering on her kid from the ice rink sidelines or chasing fresh powder, she’s planning the next big family moment—usually with music playing, coffee in hand, and her fur baby curled up at her feet.

                                  Work Life:

                                  Why Tax Advising?

Lee Carlson’s journey into tax advising began with something deeply personal—her desire to support her family after her husband became disabled. Determined to create stability for her children, she returned to college in 1991 and has been a powerhouse in the field of taxation ever since.

With over four decades of experience, Lee joined VL Wealth in 2012 and quickly became a vital part of the team. Her mission is simple but powerful: help people navigate the often-confusing world of tax regulations while giving them peace of mind and a strong sense of support. Whether working with individuals or business clients, Lee combines technical expertise with a personal approach. Her goal? To ensure every client feels informed, cared for, and confident about their financial future. She stays sharp on every change in tax law and is always working to maximize deductions and strategies for her clients. With Lee, no question is too small, and no client concern goes unheard.

                                  Personal Life:

Who is Lee outside of work?

A native of Lowell, MA, Lee now spends much of her time giving back to the community that shaped her. She currently serves as Treasurer of the Billerica Lions Club, an organization especially close to her heart due to its mission of preserving sight—“God’s greatest gift,” as she puts it. She also contributes her time to St. Matthew’s in Billerica, St. Patrick’s in Pelham, the Billerica Emblem Club, and the Billerica Lodge of Elks.

Her most cherished roles, though, are that of mother and grandmother. Family is everything to Lee, and she brings the same care and compassion she gives her loved ones to the clients and causes she serves.
